PURPOSE:To improve safety by providing a transmission control means for restricting a shift up of a transmission before actuating an automatic brake device, so that a car speed is prevented from increasing by worsening accelera tion before actuating the automatic brake device. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle provides a detecting means 56 for detecting a distance and a relative speed between a car and an obstacle and a judging means 24 for judging whether necessity is provided or not for generating an alarm or whether possibility of contact is provided or not from the distance and the relative speed between the car and the obstacle detected by this detecting means 56. An automatic brake device of automatically applying each wheel brake, in the case of judging possibility of contact provided by this judging means 24, is provided to restrict a shift up of a transmission 46 before actuating the automatic brake device by a transmission control means 24. |
