PURPOSE:To acquire the required number of musical tone generating channels without limiting the number of musical tone generating channels required for a part to be newly inputted by setting priority order to each part without fixedly distributing with respect to the number of musical tone generating channels, which are used for plural parts having respectively different tones. CONSTITUTION:Play information for each part prepared by a keyboard or a computer is stored, and a format based on a MIDI standard is used for play data to be generated from a play data generator 1 as a music sequencer to successively read this information. By allocating different MIDI channels to the respective parts, the play data of plural parts are transmitted/received. A channel asigner 2 receives these MIDI play data, selects the desired channel to be allocated to the play data while referring to a memory 3 in accordance with the part corresponding to the MIDI channel, and controls a musical tone generator 4 based on the selected data and the play data. |
