PURPOSE:To prolong the life of printing mechanism and provide operating state for printing smoothly in a short time from a reception of a print command. CONSTITUTION:In an engine section 3 for controlling printing mechanisms 6, 8-12 so as to print, a plurality of standby modes are provided in order to stop each section of the printing mechanisms 6, 8-12 by dividing into a plurality of steps after a command from a control section 1 is out. Further, before image processing for the printing mechanisms 6, 8-12 is performed by receiving a printing data and a command from a host computer 2, a release command for releasing the standby mode is outputted from the control section 1 to the engine section 3. |
