PURPOSE:To obtain a strong catalyst by baking a metal catalyst carrier element formed by alternately winding or laminatingmetal plates at high temp. under reduced pressure to forma a film hard to pass oxygen on the surfaces of the metal plates to enhance the oxidation resistance of the carrier element. CONSTITUTION:A flat metal plate 2 and a corrugated metal plate both of which are made of a 5Al-20Cr-remainder Fe material are alternately wound or laminated to form a metal catalyst carrier element 1, which is, in turn, baked at 1200 deg.C or higher under pressure of 1.5-10 pa. Whereupon, Al in the material of the metal plates 2, 3 becomes Al2O3 to form a film hard to pass oxygen on the surfaces of the FeCr-Al alloy structural particles in the material of the metal plates and the oxidation resistance of the carrier element is enhanced. The strength of the bonded parts 4 of the metal plates 2, 3 is also enhanced and film-out is eliminated. |
