PURPOSE: To obtain a method and a device for measuring the service life of a gas purifier that are not dependent upon the change in physical property of impurity absorptive substance without requiring a special device and highly skilled operator and receiving influences due to unknown change in impurity level of a gas to be purified. CONSTITUTION: A service life measuring device 102 is connected to a gas purifier 104. A means 114 for measuring a resistance value Rx between auxiliary determining positions 116 within a housing 108 and a gas absorptive material 110 is given a potential difference at a voltage V through fixed limit resistance Rf between an electrode 118 isolated from the housing 108 by an insulation sleeve 120 made of ceramic and an optional parts of the housing 108.
