PURPOSE:To provide the titled medium composition for determination of glucose unfermentative Gram-negative bacillus, composed of a specific amount of L- phenylalanine, a yeast extract and a monohydrogen di-alkali metal phosphate and capable of identifying the bacterial strain by the culture for a short time. CONSTITUTION:2pts.(wt.) of L-phenylalanine used as a substrate is compounded with 1-2.5pts. of yeast extract to promote enzymatic reaction and 0.5-2pts. of a monohydrogen di-alkali metal (Na or K) phosphate acting as a pH-modifier. The composition gives an aqueous solution of 6.8-7.8pH when dissolved in 1,000pts. of water and is used as the solution. |
