<p>PURPOSE: To provide a SIMM socket with a durable metal latch incorporated with a wedge-shaped projection, a fixed tab, and installation means. CONSTITUTION: A socket 20 includes an insulated housing 30. The latch 100 is positioned within a pocket at both ends of the insulated housing 30. Each latch has two leg sections connected by a curve section. In the two leg sections, when a circuit board 4 of an electron module 2 turns in the slot 34 of the insulated housing 30, the wedge-shaped projection 110 bends in combination with the fringe of the circuit board 4. Each latch contains in combination with the wedge- shaped projection 110, the fixed tab 152, and a barb 18 and maintains the electron module 2 in cooperation with a hole 12 at the specified position of the insulated housing 30.</p> |
