Multi-level motor-vehicle-parking system - has distribution vehicles travelling individually in gangways at each level and transported by lifts at end in one direction only

The system has gangways between rows of compartments at different levels, together with inlet and discharge compartments for the vehicles at the transfer level. These each contain a horizontal conveyor, and a buffer zone for the vehicle. In each gangway(2) and at each level there are several distribution vehicles(8) travelling independently, loading and unloading the parking places(9) and the storage area(7), and in one direction only. At each end of each gangway is a lift(10, 11) transporting the distribution vehicles in one direction only. Movements of these lifts and vehicles take place simultaneously and independently of each other. The vehicles deliver and receive the motor vehicles to and from the horizontal conveyors(5) at the transfer level. USE/ADVANTAGE - Fast handling, and minimum delay in delivering or collecting vehicles in multistorey car park.
