A range of pulse counts from 1 to 99 is covered by a two-stage modulo-10 counter consisting of two decades, two circuit portions each comprising ten flip-flops and ten AND-gates, and a control circuit (23). The latter is formed of four simple flip-flops (31-34), two gate circuits (35,36), five AND-gates (37-41) and three NOT-gates (42,43,52). The decade count states are delivered in 1-out-of-10 code. ADVANTAGE - Programmed count can be entered as from a conventional decimal keyboard, e.g. by operation of two keys for tens and units.
