An exchange control card (1) processes a bus amplifier signal and switches it into a significant state when data are transmitted between connecting link cards in different frame positions. The bus amplifier (3) receives buffer-stores and relays the incoming data. The data buses (7,8) in upper and lower frame positions (5,6) are connected to the bus amplifier in conjunction with an amplifier signal bus (9) and a card selection bus (10). The control card assigns a pair of addresses and indicates the two cards selected for participation in the transfer of data.
