<p>A folding table (1) includes legs (9) which are movable between an open, unfolded position and a closed, folded position. A slider plate (83), having at least one edge wall, is secured to the underside of the table (1) inwardly of the legs (9). A strut (31) is pivotally secured at one end to the leg (9). The free end of the strut (31) has a head formed in it which is slidable along the plate edge wall. A locking pin (65) is mounted to the strut head (37) and is urged against the edge wall of the plate (83). The wall includes an opening which receives the pin (65) to lock the leg (9) in its unfolded position. The end of the strut head (37) opposite the locking pin (65) includes a grip (59R, 59L) which is operatively connected to the pin. The table is unlocked by urging the grip (59R, 59L) inwardly. The grip (59R, 59L) is formed in two halves to define a clip which frictionally receives the leg (9) to lock the leg (9) in its folded position.</p> |
