PURPOSE:To raise luminance as well as obtain clear picture by forming a striped fluorescent screen on the inner surface of a trapezoidal face panel and also by using a Braun tube in which stripe pitches are changed vertically. CONSTITUTION:The Braun tube 13 has the trapezoidal face panel 13A the inner surface of which is throughly coated with a fluorescent substance in a striped pattern such that the stripe pitches are changed vertically; that is, the stripe pitches become narrower gradually from the upper position toward the lower position. Thus, the stripe pitches at the upper part of the projection screen have been rendered identical to those at the lower part of said screen, the shadow of television picture can be minimized, and the luminance of the projector can be raised. |
