A housing for gas sensors, preferably a lambda probe for determining the content of pollutants and/or oxygen in exhaust gases, has an outer protective housing, at one end of which are arranged electric connections for the sensor element arranged on a thin plate and at the other end of which the sensor element is arranged underneath a perforated protective cap to be exposed to the gas flow to be measured. A ceramic moulded part for the electric connections and/or the thin plate is arranged in the protective housing. The ceramic moulded part is composed of similar pieces having at one end slots open on one side, into which contact elements are inserted that project over the fourth (open) side and are immovably held by three sides of the slot. The pieces are provided with a recess adapted to the shape of the thin plate and extending up to their other end for receiving and holding the thin plate. At least the projecting areas of the contact elements are arranged in the area of the recess, clampingly retaining the thin plate and electrically connecting thereto the sensor element located thereon. The contact elements may be provided on their reverse side with the electric connections.
