摘要 |
In order to control the main voltage supply in cars which have at least one heavy load (like a starter motor) and weaker loads (e.g. the lighting circuit), two batteries in parallel are provided, charged up from a single generator. The main battery supplies primarily the heavy load and the auxiliary battery supplies the weaker load so that the voltage drop in the weaker circuit is limited when the heavy load is supplied. During normal running, both batteries are charged and when the engine is stationary, the auxiliary battery is disconnected. During the starting process, the starter is connected to the main battery whilst the rest of the car's electrics are connected to the auxiliary battery. ADVANTAGE - Prevents voltage drop in lighting and other circuits when starter is operated. |
