PURPOSE:To use a spatial space effectively and reduce the cost, by collecting the developer transfer means in the one-side end part of the cleaning unit. CONSTITUTION:The cleaning device is provided with cleaning part A, whose width is approximately equal to the width of photosensitive drum 100, and storage part B. Cleaning blade 102 is arranged in the housing, and edge 103 cleans the developer residual on drum circumference face 104. The cleaned developer drops onto feed screw 105. The developer which dropped onto this screw 105 is stored on saucer 106 and is transferred to the side end part in the direction parallel with drum 100 by rotation of screw 105. The developer transferred to the side and part is collected into storage part B by the collecting device. Thus, a small-size and cheap cleaning device can be, obtained by collecting developer transfer and gathering means in the side end part. |
