<p>The machine tool has a spindle head (20) traversable along several coordinate axes (x, y). An elongated work table (13) runs with its longitudinal axis parallel to one of the coordinate axes (x). A casing (11) surrounds the spindle head (20) and the work table (13). In order to protect the space (33) of the machine tool (10) located behind the spindle head (20) from metal chips flying around and drilling water splashing around, a dividing wall (40, 40') is arranged on either side of the spindle head (20) in the direction of the coordinate axis (x) parallel to the longitudinal axis of the work table (13).
