The aim is to improve an extrusion installation for plastics pipes consisting of an extruder, a cooling chamber having, arranged therein, a water-cooled calibration sleeve which draws the extruded pipe against the inner side of the wall of said cooling chamber, and a downstream through-flow cooling chamber designed as a vacuum tank, a wall-thickness measuring apparatus having one or more measuring heads which are aligned radially with respect to the pipe and operate according to the ultrasonic principle, in terms of the measuring accuracy of the wall-thickness measuring apparatus. To this end it is provided for the calibration sleeve (3) and wall-thickness measuring apparatus (6) to be arranged in a chamber (1) containing a full water bath, the chamber (1) being connected directly to the vacuum tank (7) with sealing of the passage for the extruded pipe (16) and a water-carrying and vacuum-carrying join (13, 9) being installed between measuring part (5) and vacuum tank (7). <IMAGE> |
