In a DC brushless motor for the capstan of a camcorder, between upper and lower rotor yokes (2',2") are a printed circuit board (3') attatching a permanent magnet (6) and a coil (7), and on the lower face of the lower rotor yoke (2") is another permanent magnet (8') for detecting velocity. A velocity detector (9') facing to the permanet magnet (8') is attached to a side face of a bearing housing (4'). The velocity detector is connected with the printed circuit board through a lead wire (10'). A wire (12') for motor control is placed along a groove (19) on the bearing housing.
