PURPOSE:To select and use a newly added font from an outside by replacing a selected font with another font, based on information inputted from the outside. CONSTITUTION:In a printer 1 for selecting a font to be used, based on the information inputted from a host computer 2, a CPU 5 for replacing the selected font with another font is provided. The CPU 5 is in charge of controlling the whole printer 1 according to a control means, has a RAM 5a and a RAM 5b for storing a control procedure, sets all the fonts designated by the host computer 2 side, by the printer 1 side and replaces them with a priority font used preferentially. That is, a newly added font is selected from the outside and can be used immediately, and the added font can be used effectively. |
