PURPOSE:To compose the communication system of a high-band width by using a sub-carrier of a different frequency. CONSTITUTION:The arrays of diode lasers 18 have respectively different cavity length. Consequently, the diode lasers 18 have resonance peak in respectively different frequencies f1 to fn. The plural sub-carriers which can be used for the transmission of a data signal can be obtained by operating the diode lasers 18 with respective resonance frequencies. Besides, the diode cavity of the laser 18 adjacent to the array has a length increasing by the specific increasing part. The sub-carrier frequencies generated by the laser 18 are separated with a corresponding fixed amount. The frequency of the adjacent sub-carrier can be separated with a frequency proper to be adapted to a predicted signal band width by carefully selecting the increasing part of the length. A sub-carrier channel is connected to an optical fiber 22 by way of a proper optical connector 20. |
