OPTICAL COMMUNICATION LINK FOR CORRECTING NON-LINEAR EFFECT AND OPTICAL SIGNAL PROCESSING METHOD

PURPOSE: To correct a non-linear effect by providing the optical communication link with an optical fiber transmission line followed by color line dispersion and a non-linear effect and a correcting means for restricting a harmful result in the line dispersion/non-linear effect. CONSTITUTION: Since a transmission line 6 includes a line optical fiber having color dispersion per positive direction unit length <=0.5ps/nm.km e.g. the whole transmission line 6 has line dispersion. The signal correcting means 14 is suitable for filtering light frequency and includes an output filter 16 having the band width of filtering for correction. The means 14 includes also a line dispersion compensator 26. The absolute value of compensated dispersion is smaller than that of line dispersion and a difference between the two absolute values constitues a compensation deficit selected close to an optimum compensation deficit capable of minimizing an error rate.
