PURPOSE:To correctly detect the faults of computers which a multicomputer system. CONSTITUTION:A second fault check mechanism 12 which detects a computer fault by the check of presence/absence of data update in a data update area 31 proper to a fault detection target computer 2 allocated on shared memory 3 is provided in addition to a first fault check mechanism 11 which performs the detection of the computer fault by message communication, and also, a shared memory data update mechanism 22 which updates the content of the data update area 31 on the shared memory 3 at a constant period is provided at the target computer 2. The second fault check mechanism 12 refers to the data update area 31 when it is decided that the fault occurs (possibility) on the computer 2 by the first fault check mechanism 11, and judges that the fault occurs in the computer 2 when no data update for constant period is performed. |
