The subject of the present invention is a method for coating seeds with a film, comprising the following successive steps: a) a first coating of the seeds is carried out by applying to these seeds an aqueous wash (paste) containing at least one film-generating agent, preferably of cellulose-type nature and possibly at least one active non-hydrolysable and water-soluble material; a1) possibly, the seeds thus obtained are dried until a residual moisture content of between 3 and 30%, preferably between 5 and 15% is obtained; b) the seeds thus film-coated are powdered with an active composition containing at least one active water-sensitive substance; c) the powdered seeds are given a second film coating by applying an aqueous wash containing at least one film-generating agent to them; c1) possibly, the seeds thus obtained are dried until a residual moisture content in the seeds of between 3 and 30%, preferably between 5 and 15% is obtained; and d) possibly the aforementioned steps b) and c) are repeated to allow additional quantities of active substance to be fixed. The invention particularly finds an application for fixing at least one active water-sensitive substance in the form of a dry powder to the seeds.
