The bin has at least two chambers (11a,11b) each equipped with a lid (12a,12b) and with at least one of the lids having a compacter. The compacter is mounted on the end of a rod which passes through the lid and has a knob on its upper end, with a return spring on the rod between the knob and the top of the cover. The head of the compacter can be made with a flat thrust surface and a convex upper surface which prevents waste from adhering to it.The lower part of the bin can be equipped with a sliding drawer (15) for a separate container. ADVANTAGE - Suitable for separate collection of domestic waste with a view to recycling, or could be used in hospital, enabling waste to be compacted without handling.
