PURPOSE:To obtain similar surround effect with a front speaker only without arranging any speaker to a rear side (or a lateral side) actually. CONSTITUTION:Two speakers 4, 6 or over arranged in front of a listener are used and a head transfer function of the lateral side or the rear side of the listener is realized by FIR filters 11, 14 so that a surround signal as if reverberation or reflecting sound generated by an input signal comes from the lateral side or rear side of the listener. Furthermore, the surround signal coming from the lateral side or the rear side is delayed by a prescribed time at delay devices 15, 32, 33. Thus, a sense of localization of sound coming from the lateral side or rear side is provided, and the sound effect with similar presence that the sound radiates from a speaker arranged actually to the lateral side or the rear side is obtained. |
