<p>PURPOSE: To provide an AM/FM compatible stereo receiver by respectively using frequency deviation for the base band sound in an FM mode and an IF signal for the base band in an AM mode for conversion at a discriminator tank circuit. CONSTITUTION: One discriminator circuit at radio equipment 100 is composed of a resonance circuit composed of a voltage controlled oscillator(VCO) 161, an inductance 137 and a capacitor 139. In the FM mode, discriminator tank circuits 137 land 139 use the frequency deviation for conversion to the base band sound. In the AM mode, the discriminator tank circuits 137 and 139 are used as frequency discriminators for the VCO 161. This VCO 161 is used for converting an intermediate frequency IF to the base band. As a result, inverse tangential distortion is removed in the FM mode, a phase term from an inverse tangent is processed in the AM mode and the AM/FM compatible stereo receiver having one processor for discriminating the phase term can be provided.</p> |
