PURPOSE:To realize cost reduction by a constitution wherein a backup circuit and a backup power supply are built in and only a power supply is connected with an external circuit. CONSTITUTION:A power supply pin P1 is connected with an external power supply Vcc and a ground pin P2 is connected with a ground Vss. Solar cells 12 are integrally sealed with glass or the like in the center on the top surface of a device 1A. A chip 10 in the device 1A normally operates with power being fed from an external power supply Vcc connected with the power supply pin P1. Upon failure of the power supply Vcc, a diode 3 conducts to feed power from the solar cells 12. Since a backup circuit, i.e., the diode 3, and a backup power supply, i.e., the solar cells 12, are built in the device 1A, only the power supply Vcc is required to be connected externally with the device 1A and thereby the power supply circuit is simplified. According to the constitution, cost reduction of semiconductor device is realized. |
