PURPOSE:To provide the image pickup device which eliminates time delay due to unnecessary movement of an image pickup element and speedily picks up an image. CONSTITUTION:This device consists of an interchangeable lens barrel 1 and a camera main body 10. The interchangeable lens barrel 1 consists of a lens frame 2, an interchangeable lens 3, protection glass parts 4 and 5, and a marker 6 for focal length information which is arranged in the camera-side protection glass part 5. The camera main body 10, on the other hand, consists of a system controller 14 which limits the movement range of the image pickup element according to the focal length information and further performs control over all control elements, an image pickup part 20 incorporated with the image pickup element which can move in the optical-axis direction for focusing, a lens mount 12, a photoreflector 38 which identifies the marker 6, and an outer package body 11 in sealed structure wherein respective elements are incorporated. |
