摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a transmission mechanism comprising a drive shaft of non-circular shape in crosssection and a unit to be transmitted which is supported by the shaft to be freely slidable thereon, etc. wherein the rotation of the single shaft can be conveyed to the member to be transmitted which is supported securely thereby. CONSTITUTION:A carriage 1 (member to be transmitted) on which a print head 2 is installed is mounted to be only movable reciprocally on a guide rail 4 (drive shaft) which is installed parallel with a platen 3. In other words, the crosssection of the guide rail 4 is formed squarely and it is inserted into to be freely slidable through the square hole of a bearing 5 of the carriage 1. The guide rail 4 is also fitted with a pressure preserving member 7 having a No.2 bearing 6 to be freely slidable thereon and a torsion spring 7 is externally installed thereto, and by this arrangement the guide rail 4 and the bearing 5 of the carriage 1 are constantly applied with force to rotate in a specified direction so as to eliminate their slackness in the direction of their roation. By this arrangement, the carriage 1 is able to move reciprocally on the single guide rail 4 and printing operation corresponding to the moved position of the print head 2 can be performed.
