PURPOSE:To provide a small and inexpensive dot printer with a lower power consumption by arranging a plurality of dot type bodies at an equi-space on the circumference of a disc-like dot type retaining base pivoted rotatively on a reciprocating piece. CONSTITUTION:When a solenoid 501 begins to be energized, an armature 503 is attracted off a groove section 504-1 of a wheel base 504 at the tip 503-1 thereof. At the same time, a working lever 506 is lifted with a cam 512-1 to keep the force of a working lever spring 505 from being transmitted to the wheel base 504 so that friction resistance will be eliminated between the groove section 504-1 and the tip 503-1 to effect an efficient operation of the armatures 503. This is performed by determining the relative phase between a detection disc and the cam 512-1 properly. Then, as the lift of the cam 512-1 stops, the working lever 506 triggrs the lever 505 to start the driving of the wheel base 504 in the direction of a printing paper PP. At this point, a dot type 509-2 of a dot wheel 509 rotatively pivoted on the wheel base 504 normally faces the printing paper with an anti-reversal spring 510 and a dot wheel butt spring 511. |
