PURPOSE:To prevent dust from staying on an electromagnetic clutch and brake, by introducing cooling air through a motor side and exhausting the air to the peripheral part of an end bracket, which contains the electromagnetic clutch and brake, to make an air curtain. CONSTITUTION:Cooling air is introduced through a suction hole 39 provided in a motor side to cool a stator 34. The cooling air is passed through a space defined by an end bracket 4A containing an electromagnetic clutch and brake and by a clutch yoke 6A and a brake yoke 8A secured on the ribs 29 of the end bracket. The cooling air is then discharged through an opening A36 provided in the peripheral part of the end bracket 4A. Air is also introduced through another opening 37 provided in the end bracket to cool the electromagnetic clutch and brake. Since an air curtain is made of the air exhausted through the opening A3, dust is prevented from entering into the air which is introduced through the opening B37. |
