The invention relates to a composition for dental impressions, consisting of an alginate, a gelling agent, a gelation regulating agent, a filler and at least one compound chosen from metal oxides, hydroxides and fluorides. According to the invention, this composition comprises, in addition, an oleic acid derivative which imparts exceptional dimensional stability over time to the impressions obtained.
