<p>PURPOSE: To provide a solid-state image pickup device of high resolution by enhancing area efficiency of a vertical CCD to increase horizontal resolution, without enhancing driving frequencies of a horizontal CCD and an output amplifier. CONSTITUTION: A CCD-type solid-state pickup device is provided with a photosensitive portion constructed of two lines of photodiodes 11a, 11b, transfer gates 15a, 15b transferring charges generated at the photosensitive portion to a vertical CCD channel 17, the vertical CCD channel 17 transferring the charges transferred via the transfer gates 15a, 15b to a horizontal CCD channel using a driving pulse, the horizontal CCD channel transferring the charges transferred from the vertical CCD channel 17 to an output portion, and an output amplifier converting the amount of the charges transferred sequentially by the horizontal CCD channel to output.</p> |
