PURPOSE:To improve in the storability and the performance in the long period use of a battery provided with a gas diffusion electrode in which oxygen is used as the active material. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of a solvent soluble fluorine resin and a graphite fluoride is applied to a porous membrane, and an oxygen permeable compound membrane 11 to suppress the permeation of steam and to take in the oxygen selectively is obtained. As a result, a satisfactory discharge performance can be obtained under the discharge condition from a low load to a high load, and a battery excellent in the storability and the performance in the long period use can be obtained.
