The system is for braking the wheel of a vehicle. The wheel (1) is connected to a pump (3) via a shaft (4) and the pressure side of the pump can be applied to the friction brake (2) using a control valve actuated by pressure from the master cylinder. The control valve (10) has two switching positions. In the first the pressure side of the pump is blocked, and in the second is connected to the brake hydraulic circuit. USE/ADVANTAGE - Electric vehicle self boosting braking system using a pump driven by the wheel to be braked, so avoiding a drain on the batteries.
