Water tap adaptor for proximity control - has proximity sensor in elastic disc mounted between tap and washbasin

The conventional tap is mounted to the washbasin using a special spacer ring (10) incorporating a proximity sensor (11) and sited above the washbasin. A second ring (4) below the washbasin has a feed for the connecting cable (8) for the sensor, to connect to the control unit (9) which feeds the hot- and cold water-flows to the mixer tap (1). The sensor is cast into the elastic ring and has a cut-out to take the connecting cable. This is laid alongside the threaded shaft (5) of the tap mounting. The mixer setting of the tap is preserved. ADVANTAGE - Simple retrofitting of conventional taps, can be used for domestic systems.
