Guide rollers (3, 4) are mounted in fixed positions on an arm (2) pivot-mounted at a point (14) on a fixed frame. A second low inertia arm (6) carries a roller (5) subjected to a spring force (15) to hold the tape against the spool (7).The main arm is moved by a pneumatic cylinder (11) to maintain the operating position. The contact roller (5) has an elastic surface to provide contact. A magnetic device may alternatively be used to provide the contact force.
