A conventional cycle frame separates at points on both crossbar and downtube to form two roughly equal halves for storage in a car. Simple devices for rapid assembly include: (i) pedals which can be screwed out of the cranks using a slide comprising two tubes (27) with end flanges (28) and two plates including an outer PVC plate (29) and an inner steel plate; (ii) conical PVC guides are included in closure plates in the crossbar and down tube locking systems; and (iii) a PVC plate with metal contacts in the downtube joint allowing current to pass to the rear light. USE/ADVANTAGE - The cycle can be rapidly assembled or disassembled for storage in a car and is useful for motorists who wish to complete a journey by cycle. Does not require special tools for assembly. Pedals are easily removed to decrease bulkiness.
