The swashplate multi-piston refrigerant compressor is for the air conditioning system of a vehicle. Actuation devices are provided with whose help the suction valves are mechanically movable relative to the suction openings (30b) from their closed position to an open position in a sequence in synchronisation with the piston strokes (42). The suction valves have a plate-shaped rotatable valve element with a curved elongated hole serving as a suction channel and arranged in the suction chamber of the housing. USE/ADVANTAGE - Vehicle air-conditioner compressor in which refrigerant pressure losses are reduced and noise generation at the valves is avoided.
