PURPOSE:To reduce a frictional resistance on a submerged part of a ship's hull, by a method wherein air taken in through air intake holes provided at stem broadside parts is discharged astern through openings provided at a ship's bottom part. CONSTITUTION:The air intake holes 1 opened forwardly are provided at left and right upper parts of the stem broadside 5. The ship's bottom part 6 is provided with air-discharging pipes 3 opened astern with an aperture diameter smaller than that of the intake holes 1. The air intake holes 1 and the air-discharging pipes 3 are connected to each other by air-conducting pipes 2, and air taken in through the hole 1 is discharged in the form of bubbles through the pipes 3. The pipes 3 are partitioned by partition plates 4, so that the bubbles from the pipes 3 are discharged astern along the partition plates 4. Accordingly, the bubbles are supplied to the submerged hull part of a stern part 6 to reduce the frictional resistance on the hull. |
