An actuated support for the positioning of medical treatment instruments or diagnostic instruments is balanced out roughly in mechanical terms. A defined positioning of the instrument in question is possible by means of a plurality of drive units with integrated angle sensors. By using a plurality of angle sensors per drive unit, an additional operating safety is ensured in the case of a possible failure of one drive unit.
