PURPOSE:To provide a small recorder with an excellent resolution by controlling the electrical signal to be applied to heating element based on the results of detecting the color of a monochromatic ink layer on an ink carrier. CONSTITUTION:A heat generating resistor 26 and an ink film 33 are piled on a recording paper 22 and pressed against each other to record. A thermal head 20 containing the heat generating resistor 26 is moved vertically by a driving system 32. The color of inks separately applied on the ink film 33 is detected by an optical system 36 and based on the results of the detection, the electrical signal to be applied to the heat generating resistor is controlled. |
