<p>A waste receptacle comprising a security closure (5) which allows confidential items to be placed in the receptacle whilst preventing removal of said items from the receptacle, the security closure comprising a lid for the receptacle with an aperture therein and a slide plate (8) for reducing the size of the aperture in order to prevent removal of said items from the receptacle.
