<p>A securement device for releasable attachement of a laptop a computer (14) or other article for releasable to a user's leg (12). The securement device includes a table member (16) and a pair of in-folding leg members (22,24), one each of which is attached for hinged for movement relative to a corresponding side edge portion (18,20) of the table member (16). Elastic webbing (26,28) interconnects the free end portion of each leb member (22,24) to a central portion on the underside of the table member (16). The securement device is centered on a user's leg (12) and a pair of coacting straps (32,34) are used to snugly encircle the user's leg (12) whereby the free end portion of the leg members (22,28) are in supporting engagement at either side of the user's leg (12). The straps (32,34) and webbing (22,28) snugly encircle the user's leg (12) and act to prevent pivotal movement of the securement device relative thereto and the leg members (22,24) brace the table member (16) to prevent displacement thereof as a result of ordinary unbalanced imposed forces. Elastic straps (42,44) are provided whereby an article such as a laptop computer (14) may be releasably attached to the supporting surface of the table member (16). The invention allows a user of a laptop computer (14) to stand and walk a few steps without displacing the laptop computer. When removed from a user's from a user's leg (12), the securement device folds to a compact storage position so that the laptop computer or other article may be easily transported or stored or placed on a supporting surface such as a table or desk and operated in the usual manner. <IMAGE></p> |
