<p>An electricity meter for monitoring electricity drawn from an electricity supply 4 has analogue to digital conversion means (5) connected to the supply and arranged to provide digital signals, representative of the drawn electricity, to a central processing unit (1). The central processing unit is arranged to calculate from the digital signals the accumulated power consumed.
