<p>An aerator having a tubular primary element and an elastic perforated membrane surrounding this, through the perforations of which membrane compressed air is introduced into the liquid in the form of fine bubbles, has at the end a connecting element (1), which connects the primary element (2) with a compressed air feed pipe (7). The aerator is characterised in that the connecting element (1) is designed as a cylindrical body and is furnished with a central air feed orifice (3).
