<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a new indole derivative extremely useful as an anti-cancer medicine, showing cytodical action on cancerous cells. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I [R<1> is H, carboxyl, lower alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, acyl or heterocyclmc group; R<2> is H, carbamoyl, lower alkyl, aryl, aralkyl or acyl; R<3> is H, halogen, OH, lower alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl or aryl; Y is direct bond or lower alkylene; Z is halogen, OH, NR<4>R<5> (R<4> and R<5> are H, amino-protecting group, lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, acyl, aryl or are bonded together with N linked to form heterocyclic), trialkylammonio or group of formula II] and a salt thereof such as N-(2- dimethylaminoethyl)3,7-dimethyl-2-phenylindole-4,5-carboximide. The compound of formula I wherein R<2> is H is obtained by reacting a compound of formula III with a compound of the formula H2N-Y-Z.</p> |
