PURPOSE: To maintain a constant drop flight time by setting a desired drop time using only a fresh ink and operating a printing device using ink, which is recycled and changed in temperature. CONSTITUTION: A pressure source 30 is adjusted by fresh ink so that a time of drop jet from a nozzle 12 is in an allowable limit to realize best printing in respect of certain boards, distances, etc. Printing is executed using ink, which is supplied from an ink reservoir 16 to the nozzle 12 via a three-way valve 14. It is important to periodically check the quality of ink in the system, so a control device 28 actuates the three-way valve 14 to switch to a fresh ink reservoir 36. The control device is adjusted until a drop time detector 24 indicates that the drop time is in an allowable limit set in advance. At this time, the control device 28 controls a pressure sensor 26 to determine a pressure necessary for a desired drop time. |
