PURPOSE:To keep a wire diameter at the time of heat treatment so stably as well as to check the extent of variations in tensile strength of a saw wire by austenitizing a wire of 0.7-2.5mm in diameter being manufactured out of a hot-rolled wire rod of steel CONSTITUTION:A wire of 0.7-2.5mmphi in diameter being produced out of a hot-rolled wire rod of steel made up of adding C: 0.80-1.10, Si: 0.10-1.00, Mn: 0.10-1.00 in wt% plus more than one type of Cr, Ni and Cu, is austenitized. Next, this wire is treated in the range of more than 350 deg.C but less than 500 deg.C in isothermal transformation temperature, thereby setting it down to an upper bainitic structure wire. In addition, plating is applied to this wire surface and then such a saw wire as less than 150mum in wire diameter is produced by means of wire drawing. With this constitution, the wire diameter at the time of heat treatment is stabilized, and any possible variation in tensile strength of the saw wire is checked, thus the saw wire is so favorably produced in terms of efficiency. |
