PURPOSE:To enable the preparing of a valid alternative output even for guidance information which is impossible to output by storing alternative information indicating alternative expression previously for a part at which conversion is impossible from a first received information signal to a second output information signal. CONSTITUTION:A receiver 3 receives guidance information, for example, of 'Oume road' and positional information thereof to store. An MPU11 retrieves a reading conversion table on a CD4A to convert the 'Oume road' to a reading, but calculates the current position of own car when a corresponding word is not entered. The position of the 'Oume road' is detected based on the positional information stored and map information and the positional information on the CD4A. A distance and a relative positional relationship are calculated between the current position and the position of the 'Oume road' from the positions thereof. Based on the results, a reading is selected for alternative expression to match a selection reference from an alternative expression table on the CD4A to replace the word 'Oume road' stored. For example, written guidance information '100 meter ahead' is presented by conversion. |
